Norman Howard Crawford, 51, Sturgis, died Friday, September 5, 2003, in Toluca, Mexico.

He was an employee of the Trelleborg Corp. in Morganfield.

Survivors include three daughters, April Crawford of Morganfield and Lisa Crawford and Sabrina Crawford, both of Indiana, two sons, Scott Byrd and Norman Crawford, both of Sturgis; his mother Mary Carrier of Sturgis; one sister, Marilyn Brown of Sturgis; three brothers, Tony George of Sturgis and John George and Rick George, both of Greenfield, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis.

Rev. Frank Scott Cowan, 79, of Madisonville, formerly of Union County, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at Regional Medial Center.

Rev. Cowan was pastor at the New Salem Baptist Church in Sturgis for over 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Dawson Cowan in 1985.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Cowan of Louisville, Brenda Cowan of Lexington and Myrtle Cowan of Madisonville; three sons, Rev. Glen Cowan and Red Cowan, both of Madisonville and Lynwood Cowan of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters Ernestine Travis and Onita Bunton, both of Springville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, at Eastview Baptist Church in Madisonville with Rev. T.D. Stubblefield and Rev. Norris Mills officiating.

Burial was in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Sturgis.

Michael L. Sterling, 45, died Friday, August 29, 2003l at his home of cancer.

He worked at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana plant in Princeton, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife Twilan (Pund) Sterling; one daughter, Breanna Sterling; three sons, Einar, Calab and Jacob Sterling; his father, Kenneth Sterling; and two sisters, Kym Hopkins and Michelle Buschkoetter.

Funeral services were held Monday, ,Sept. 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with Father Dusty Burns officiating. Burial was in the Mary, Help of Christians Cemetery in Mariah Hill, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Home Health and Hospice.

Joseph B. Markham, 87, of Morganfield, died at 12:55 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Markham was a retired U.S. Postal Employee and was a W.W.II Air Force veteran who served in he South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Markham; one daughter, Barbara Devault of Morganfield; one granddaughter Heather Wagner of Greensboro, N.C.; and one sister Martha Omer of Mayfield.

Funeral services were held Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Garland Hawkins officiating. Burial was in the Morganfield Odd Fellow Cemetery.
