Urey Miller,
89, of Morganfield, died at 2:25 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2003. Mr. Miller was
a lifetime member and organist of Bowman Chapel C.M.E. Church. He was preceded
in death by two sons David Miller and Robert Miller. Survivors include his wife
Elizabeth; and one daughter Peggy Casey of Indianapolis, Ind. Funeral services
will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Bowman C.M.E. Church in Morganfield
with Rev. Willie J. Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellow Cemetery
in Morganfield. Friends may call from 6 till 8 p.m., Thursday and after 8 a.m.
Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.
Harry Wright Jr.,
48, of Sullivan, died at 5:25 a.m., Monday, May 26, 2003 at Crittenden County
Health Systems. Survivors include his wife Sandra Wright; two daughters, Larre
Wright of Sullivan and Karisa Smith of Henderson; two sons, Rodney Wright of Uniontown
and Michael Hoskins of Groton, Conn.; two sisters, Pat Maas of Sturgis and Diane
Carrier of Morganfield; three brothers, Charlie Wright of Pride, Kenny Wayne Wright
of Morganfield and Gary Wright of Sturgis; and one grandson Trey Michael Wright.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Whitsell Funeral
Home in Morganfield with Rev. Chris Reynolds officiating. Friends may call at
the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service. Burial will
be in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown.
Hilda Brown Potts,
82, of Sturgis, died at 6:45 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Potts was a member of the Sturgis General Baptist
Church, had attended Sturgis First Baptist Church for the past 20 years, was active
in Sturgis Senior Citizens and loved crocheting, quilting and dancing. She was
preceded in death by her husband Alfred O. Potts Jr., in 1979. Survivors include
two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Steve Wise of Henderson and Peggy Jo
and Scott Glass of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law Jerry L. and
Bobbye Potts of Morganfield; one sister, Allie Vaughn of Sturgis; three brothers,
C.J. "Buck" Brown, William Brown and Harry "Mack" Brown, all of Sturgis; five
grandchildren, Greg Wise, John Potts, Jeff Wise, Heather Hart Kirten and Chris
Hart; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will
be held Saturday, May 31 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Don Collins
officiating. Burial will be in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from

Jim Kinnamon,
63, of Morganfield, died at 12:10 a.m., Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Methodist Hospital
Union County. Mr. Kinnamon was a telephone company employee for many years. He
was preceded in death by his father James "Eb" Kinnamon in 1964 and his mother
Essel Ray Kinnamon Aug. 7, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Kristi Kennedy
and Robin Dodson, both of Morganfield; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services
were held Tuesday, May 27 at Whitsell Funeral Home. Burial was in the Odd Fellow
Cemetery in Morganfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Hospital
Union County Extended Care Unit.
Kathryn Crow,
82, of Morganfield, died at 8:50 a.m., Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Shemwell Nursing
Home in Providence. Mrs. Crow was a member of the United Methodist Church. She
was preceded in death by her husband John Crow in 1981. Survivors include two
daughters Gwen Paris of Sturgis and Gail Wilson of Post Falls, Idaho; one son,
Bill Crow of Chesapeake, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at United Methodist Church
in Morganfield with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellow
Cemetery in Morganfield. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and from

Charles E. Brown,
89, of Waverly, died at 1:14 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter Mary
Alice Kirkland, Oct. 11, 2002. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Virginia
Alice Brown; three daughters, Wilma Adamson and Peggy Russelburg, both of Morganfield
and Susie Buckman of Waverly; two sons, Thomas E. Brown of Evansville, Ind., and
Charles A. Brown of Encino, Calif.; one sister Wilma Williams of Charleston, W.Va.;
three brothers, Joseph Brown of Evansville, Ind., Harold Brown of Paducah and
George Brown of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, May 28, at St. Peter's Catholic
Church in Waverly with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial will be in the
church cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time today at Whitsell

William S. "Boom
Boom" Brown, 74, of Boxville, died at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2003 at
his residence. Mr. Brown, a veteran of the Korean War, was a retired coal miner
and part-time farmer. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Ella Lillian Brown;
two daughters, Kim Alvey of Sturgis and Darlene Padgett of Morganfield; five sons,
Larry Brown of Henderson, Terry and Steve Brown, both of Sturgis and Billy and
Ron Brown, both of Boxville; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral
services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Nicholson
officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Union County.
Theolinda O'Bryan,
90, of Morganfield, died at 10:20 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. O'Bryan was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church
in Morganfield. Survivors include two sisters Rose Danhauer of Morganfield and
Roberta Pruden of Clarksville, Tenn.; one brother Paul M. O'Bryan of Owensboro;
and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, May 26, 2003 at St.
Ann Catholic Church with Father Pat Bittel officiating Burial was in the St. Raphael
Cemetery in Daviess County near Owensboro.
Anna Conn Chambliss,
65, of Sturgis, died at 10:30 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2003, at her residence. Mrs.
Chambliss was a member of the First Christian Church in Sturgis. She retired as
branch manager of Morganfield National Bank after 28 years in banking at Morganfield
National Bank and Farmer's State Bank in Sturgis. Survivors include her husband,
Eddie "Poochie" Chambliss of Sturgis; three sons, Randy Jo Chambliss of Alvaton,
Ky., Steven Conn Chambliss of Nashville, Tenn., and Gregory Alan Chambliss, of
St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Martha Conn Watson and Lorena Clark, both of Sturgis,
and Linda Conn Oldham of Providence; and eight grandchildren, Marian Edmonds,
Morgan Chambliss, Dillon Chambliss, Murphy Chambliss, Mason Chambliss, Matt Chambliss,
Mitchell Chambliss and Rachel Chambliss. Funeral services were held Sunday, May
25, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Jeff Bullock officiating. Burial
was in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. Memorial contributions may be made
to St. Anthony's Hospice and Relay For Life.
Kenny Bealmear,
53, of Waverly, died at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003 at his residence. Mr.
Bealmear was a charter member and treasurer for 29 years of the Waverly Volunteer
Fire Department. He worked at Ferro Corp. and was an avid outdoorsman. He was
of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lee Bealmear
and a brother Michael Bealmear. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Bealmear; his
father R.G. Bealmear of Morganfield; three sons, Todd and Donnie Bealmear, both
of Waverly and Robbie Bealmear of Henderson; two sisters, Brenda Hogge of Waverly
and Donna Greenwell of Morganfield; two brothers, Stan Bealmear of Waverly and
Keith Bealmear of Morganfield; five grandchildren Zachary, Kristen, Maddie, Caylin,
and Jordan; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services were held
Sunday, May 25 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Bill Henderson
and Bro. Gary Puryear officiating. Burial was in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Waverly.

Annelle Mason,
79, of Morganfield, died at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Mason was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Nace Waller Mason; and two brothers,
Tom Greenwell and William "Bill" Greenwell. Survivors include one son Bob Mason
of Morganfield; one sister, Elaine Thomas of Uniontown; three grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 25, at St. Ambrose
Catholic Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial was in the St. Agnes
Cemetery in Uniontown. Memorial contributions may be made to Morganfield Nursing

Randall Ray "Monk"
Eastwood, 47, of Dixon, died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at the University
of Louisville Medical Center from injuries sustained in a car accident. Mr. Eastwood
was born in Henderson Jan. 29, 1956. He was a retired coal miner from Island Creek
having worked at Ohio #1 and Hamilton #1 coal mines. He was a member of the UMWA,
an avid gun collector, an avid paintballer, member of Darksides Paintball Team
and a Ky. Colonel. He was a member of Sebree First Christian Church and a member
of the Webster County Class of 1974. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth (Williams)
Eastwood; his mother, Betty Collins Woods of Henderson; his father and stepmother,
Fred and Louise Eastwood of Sebree; one son Kyle Ray Eastwood of Dixon; two brothers,
Mike Eastwood of Sebree and Brad Eastwood of Henderson; his mother-in-law Sue
Williams of Sebree; and his father-in-law John Williams of Madisonville. Funeral
services were held Friday, May 23, at Tompkins Funeral Home Sebree Chapel with
Rev. Gene Pillows officiating. Burial was in the Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.
Lena May Vanover,
82, of Smith Mills, died at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Morganfield Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center Mrs. Vanover was a member of Belleview United Methodist
Church in Smith Mills. She retired from Ralph's Barbecue in 1995. She was preceded
in death by her husband Roy E. Vanover in 1999. Survivors include two daughters,
Peggy Pruitt of Henderson and Kay Knight of Smith Mills; two sons, Robert Vanover
and Clyde "Sonny" Vanover, both of Smith Mills; four sisters, Geraldine Kavanaugh
and Bobbie Courtney, both of Morganfield, Betty Fowler of Owensboro and Katherine
Anderson of Marengo, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 24, at Benton-Glunt
Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald House officiating. Burial was in the Fairmont
Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Belleview
United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth "Liz"
O'Nan Conway, 65, of Sturgis, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Methodist Hospital
Henderson. Mrs. Conway was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morganfield.
Survivors include three sons, B.L. Conway of Abingdon, Va., Tommy Lee Conway of
Bowling Green, and Bart Conway of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, March 23 at the First
Baptist Church in Morganfield with the Rev. Mark Galloway officiating. Burial
was held in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. A Going Home Celebration was
held Saturday, May 24.
Addie Louise Rehm,
91, of Sturgis, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Melbourne, Fla., where she had
lived since 1994. Miss Rehm was a 1932 graduate of Sturgis High School and a 1936
graduate of Welborn Walker School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse
at Welborn Walker Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Florence
and Louis Rehm. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 24 at Pythian Ridge
Cemetery in Sturgis with Rev. Don Collins officiating.
Betty J. (Wilson)
Hayes, 49, of Shawneetown, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 in rural Hamilton County.
Her death is under investigation. Mrs. Wilson was born July 9, 1953 in Crossville,
Tenn., to the late Joe B. and Edith (Wyatt) Wilson. She married George Hayes,
who preceded her in death in 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she
was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Suits and Ann Kilgore; and two brothers
Joe and Ivan Wilson. Survivors include four daughters, Lisa Barton of Shawneetown,
Ashley Blair of Alton, Denise Booten of Nashville, and Judy Owens of Shawneetown;
two brothers, Carl Wilson of Eldorado and David Wilson Shawneetown; a sister,
Carolyn Jarman of Norris City; a stepson Charlie Holbrook of Woodriver; and seven
grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, at Cox and Son Funeral
Home in Shawneetown with the Rev. Ron Gray officiating. Burial was in the Westwood
Cemetery.
