Kenneth Utley, 61
Kenneth Utley, 61, of Uniontown, died at 1:27 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at his residence in Uniontown.
Mr. Utley was a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his father Francis X. Utley in 1980.
Survivors include his mother, Lorene Utley of Morganfield; two sons, Gary and Jill Utley of Morganfield, and Steve and Sally Utley of Waverly; four sisters, Doris Cheatham of Morganfield, Mary Gladys Frields of Henderson, Shelby Willett of Waverly and Mattie Frances Greenwell of Morganfield; and four grandchildren, Garrick, Marcus, Alex and Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Waverly.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Sue Hunter Hooper, 59
Sue Hunter Hooper, 59, of Morganfield, died at 4:20 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2003 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cissell and Mildred Hunter and a brother, James Hunter.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two stepdaughters, Kelly Wolfe and Kim Cartwright, both of Morganfield; one stepson, John Wayne Hooper of Morganfield; one sister, Shirley Hunter Williams of Marion; one brother, Gerald Hunter of Morganfield; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 30, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial will be held in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice or to the Henshaw Christian Church.
Carlis L. McElroy, 45
Carlis L. McElroy, 45, of Uniontown, died at 12:09 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.
Mr. McElroy was preceded in death by his mother Doris Bumpus in 2000 and his father Howard McElroy.
Survivors include one adopted daughter, Shadawna of Uniontown; five sisters, Theresa of Accokeek, Md., Latrice of Hampton, Ga., Edith of Madisonville, Andrea of Shelbyville and Natasha of Providence; four brothers, Ronald and William, both of Uniontown, Dorica of Korea, and Howard Jr., of Vermont, Conn.; six aunts, Viola Bumpus of Uniontown, Polly, Cara and Anna, all of Providence, Mary K. of Mansfield, Ohio, and Ernestine of Miss.; and three uncles, Milton of Mansfield, Ohio and John and Jerry, both of Providence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 26 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Edmund "Eddie" Clements, 65
Edmund "Eddie" Clements, 65, of Violet, La., died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Terrebonne Medical Center in Houma, La.
Mr. Clements was a native of Union County, an Army Veteran, and lived in Violet for the last 40 years. He was a retired mechanic with Boh Brothers. He was also a member of St. Mark's Catholic church and a member of St. Bernard Karate Academy where he was a third degree black belt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucy Clements and a sister Anna Laura Vandiver.
Survivors include his wife Diane; two daughters, Lucy Kahrs and Debra Beaumont; two sons Johnny and Bret; two sisters, Agnes Hancock of Morganfield and Susan wood of St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers, Bob of Boonville, Ind., Gerald of Waverly, Harold of River of the Rough, Ky., and Walter of Bokielia, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
