Dr. William H. Puryear, son of Joseph Thomas and Lucy Ann Overby Puryear, was born the 26th of ? 1884 in the eastern part of the county.

He attended school in the elementary grades at McClures School near his home. Late he entered the dental College at Louisville, Kentucky.

He opened an office in Morganfield in 1910 and has had a thriving business since then.

Dr. Puryear was married to Miss Vera Denton, October 6, 1909.

He is a member of the Christian Church.
