Casey B. Graves

Casey B. Graves, physician of Morganfield, Kentucky is the son of ----- Graves. Born on November 5, 1874 on a farm in the hills near Holman Hill about seven miles south of Morganfield. He attended the common schools of Union County at Holman Hill.

Dr. Graves left the farm at the age of nineteen, he entered the private school of Professor Lemen in Morganfield, this was located on Banning Street. After one year in this school he entered the teaching profession, he taught in the rural schools for eight years, teaching five months terms. The intervening months were spent in school, mainly at the Ohio Valley College, located at Sturgis, Kentucky. After finishing at this college, he attended the Hospital College of Medicine at Louisville, Kentucky, graduating in July 1905.

Since 1905 Dr. Graves has been practicing at Morganfield, Kentucky, thirty five years of useful service to the people of Union County.

He served as coroner of Union County for twenty years. He is now a member of The County Board of Health, Union County Medical Society, State Medical Association of Kentucky, and the Southern Medical Association.

Dr. Graves married Miss Mattie Lou Newman at Morganfield, Kentucky in 1906, she died in 1914. He married Miss Amelia Robertson also of Morganfield, in 1916.

He is a devout member of the Morganfield Baptist Church; he is a member of the Board of Deacons in the church and also serves as one of the trustees.
