REBURN CEMETERY

Here is a photo of Reburn Cemetery. The large headstone in the foreground is the marker of my g'grandparents, WC & Hattie Hedges. The cemetery looks much better now than 10 years ago, when it was just a locust tree grove with an almost impenetrable undergrowth. It now has a trust established by the late Ms Jeanette Covert nee Schneider. However the income from the trust can just barely maintains it's present state. Someday. Maybe we can build a fence someday.

Wabash Island in the Ohio River [headstone]

 

Delila Jones Reburn b. 1809-d Oct 1, 1848. m Oct 1830 to John Reburn. Mother of Mary Catherine, John F.,

William Joseph, Margaret, & Cyrus A  [headstone]

 

Elizabeth Freeburger Reburn b-Aug 12, 1810 d-Mar 3, 1868  [headstone]

 

Oliver Cromwell (OC) Trumbo b. Mar 23, 1842 Bath Co., KY d. Apr 19, 1930; Pv, Co F 10th KY Cavalry. A very colorful figure in Civil War lore. He had a 'dead-or-alive' bounty of $2500 placed on him for his alleged roll in wrecking a Union payroll train at Bell's Station in Mar 1865 and making off with over a million US Dollars (?). Often referred to as the "Grey Horse Guerrilla".  CSA Pension #4581 [headstone]
